Carey Philpottwas a teacher of English and Drama in schools in Glasgow and London. During that time he became involved in teacher education, as a mentor. He later moved to work in teacher education in universities and has worked at Oxford Brookes University, the University of Cumbria and is now at the University of Strathclyde. He has been programme leader for a secondary PGCE course, a post compulsory PGCE course and an undergraduate ITE course. His research interests are professional learning, language and learning and narrative research.
