Das Tagebuch erzählt die Geschichte zahlreicher Beziehungen zu Männern und Frauen. Im Zentrum, offen und präsent, in der Fülle und in dem extremen Auf und Ab ihrer Gefühle die Verfasserin selber. Am wichtigsten ist die Artikulation dieser Gefühle. In deren dichtem Zusammenhang werden Erlebnisse, Geschichten, Beobachtungen notiert. Emotion dominiert – aber Birgit Heiderichs Tagebuch setzt sich aus einer Mehrzahl von Einstellungen zusammen. Es ist reich an Apercus und an Reflexionen über Liebe, Sehnsucht, Trauer, Verzweiflung, über Frausein, Weiblichkeit, aber auch über gesellschaftliche Differenzen, über den Wissenschaftsbetrieb, es enthält Beschreibungen und Gedichte. Als Tagebuch sind diese Aufzeichnungen ernstzunehmenden realistischen Romanen der Gegenwart vergleichbar. Birgit Heiderich schreibt zugänglich, klug, schonungslos auch sich selbst gegenüber, aber noch in dieser Schonungslosigkeit bleibt sie mitteilsam und verstehbar. Ein taumelig souveränes und lebendiges, ein schönes und durch seine Kraft Zuversicht vermittelndes Buch.
