        Anne Weber wurde 1964 in Offenbach geboren. 1983 ging sie nach Paris und absolvierte das Studium der französischen Literatur sowie der vergleichenden Literaturwissenschaften an der Sorbonne. Von 1989 bis 1996 arbeitete sie in Lektoraten verschiedener französischer Verlage. Sie begann, deutsche Texte (u.a. von Hans Mayer, Jacob Burckhardt, Eleonore Frey, Sibylle Lewitscharoff, Birgit Vanderbeke und Wilhelm Genazino) ins Französische zu übersetzen. 1998 veröffentlichte sie bei Le Seuil die französische Originalfassung von Ida erfindet das Schießpulver. 1999 erschien das Buch auf deutsch im Suhrkamp Verlag, der im Herbst 2000 auch Im Anfang war veröffentlichte. 2004 erschien ihr viertes Buch Besuch bei Zerberus.
