Nach Ereignissen wie dem Mord an Walter Lübcke, dem Anschlag in Halle oder den rassistischen Morden in Hanau im Februar 2020 wird regelmäßig darüber diskutiert, inwiefern es sich um isolierte Einzeltäter handelt oder ob ein Zusammenhang zu bestimmten Parteien und Ideologien besteht. Der renommierte Rechtsextremismusforscher Wilhelm Heitmeyer hat dazu bereits 2012 das Modell eines konzentrischen Eskalationskontinuums präsentiert: ganz außen stehen menschenfeindliche Einstellungen in der Bevölkerung, im Zentrum terroristische Zellen, dazwischen organisierte Akteure, »Vordenker«, systemfeindliche Milieus und Unterstützernetzwerke. Die Gewaltbereitschaft nimmt von außen nach innen zu, die jeweils äußere Schicht liefert ihrer inneren Nachbarin Legitimation. In dieser hochaktuellen Studie zeigt Wilhelm Heitmeyer zusammen mit Peter Sitzer und Manuela Freiheit u. a. am Beispiel der Ausschreitungen in Chemnitz im August 2018, wie sich innerhalb dieses Kontinuums Allianzen herausbilden und wie diese die offene Gesellschaft immer stärker bedrohen.

Tätigkeit als Deutschlehrerin in Finnland, 1995 Preisträgerin des Open Mike der Literaturwerkstatt Berlin, lebt in Berlin und Malmö/Schweden. Im Jahr 2000 erschien "ihr perfektes Debüt", der Erzählband Streit (st 3119). Die Literaturkritikerin Manuela Reichart bescheinigte ihr in der Süddeutschen Zeitung "gute Chancen, damit zum Sprachrohr ihrer Generation ausgerufen zu werden." Im März 2003 erschien ihre zweite Erzählung Das Mädchen Franz (st 3456).
