Es handelt sich um eine brisante Mischung aus Psycho- und Politthriller. Die Idee zu dem Roman lieferte der nie aufgeklärte Tod des ehemaligen Ministerpräsidenten von Schleswig-Holstein Uwe Barschel im Genfer Hotel Beau-Rivage.

This companion to "The Business of Plant Breeding: Market-led Approaches to Plant Variety Design in Africa contains experiences from postgraduate educators training the next generation of African plant breeders and professional breeders that are implementing best practices in Demand-Led Breeding (DLB) in their current crop improvement programmes. It is written by highly experienced plant breeders representing several universities, national plant breeding programmes, regional and international agricultural research institutes in Africa, together with expert breeders from Australia and developers from private seed companies. It includes specifically points of learning from real implementation situations from crop breeding programmes in NARS and IARCs in Africa, Australia and internationally. It shares experiences on improving tropical crops, strengthening understanding on how to overcome challenges in designing new crops to increase smallholder farmer adoption and advocating best practices. It also presents five case studies on tropical crops, and discusses the need for an enabling policy environment and the changes needed for Africa to achieve its ambition for food security and Africa's vision 2063.

Martin Walser wurde am 24. März 1927 in Wasserburg am Bodensee geboren. Nach seinem Arbeitsdienst erlebte er das Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges von 1944 bis 1945 als Soldat der Wehrmacht. Nach Kriegsende machte er 1946 in Lindau am Bodensee-Gymnasium das Abitur und studierte an den Universitäten Regensburg und Tübingen Literaturwissenschaft, Geschichte und Philosophie. Mit einer Dissertation zu Franz Kafka wurde er 1951 in Tübingen promoviert. Von 1949 bis 57 arbeitete er beim Süddeutschen Rundfunk. In dieser Zeit unternahm er Reisen für Funk und Fernsehen nach Italien, Frankreich, England, CSSR und Polen und schrieb erste Hörspiele.1950 heiratete er Katharina Neuner-Jehle. Aus dieser Ehe gingen die Töchter Franziska, Alissa, Johanna und Theresia hervor. Seit 1953 wurde Walser regelmäßig zu den Tagungen der Gruppe 47 eingeladen, die ihn 1955 für die Erzählung Templones Ende auszeichnete. Sein erster Roman Ehen in Philippsburg erschien 1957 und wurde ein großer Erfolg. Walser lebte von da an mit seiner Familie als freier Schriftsteller erst in Friedrichshafen und dann in Nußdorf am Bodensee.

This anthology aims to challenge stereotypes of women travellers. Rather than simply presenting writings by Victorian women who travelled bravely around the world disregarding social convention and danger, the editors present a range of writing and possible ways of being a woman traveller. As well as the 'eccentric' woman traveller, the editors have included writings by those who might be seen as failed travellers, cautious and conventional travellers and those who did not conform to the adventurous heroine stereotype. Because travelling as a woman and writing as a woman presents the author with a number of textual problems which must be negotiated, Foster and Mills have chosen to include writings which confronted these problems and which resolved them (or did not resolve them) in different ways. Christoph Martin Wieland wurde am 5. September 1733 in Oberholzheim geboren. Nach dem Besuch des pietistischen Internats Kloster Berge bei Magdeburg begann er 1749 ein Philosophie-Studium in Erfurt. Ein Jahr später wechselte er zu einem Jura-Studium nach Tübingen. Ab 1752 arbeitete er als Hauslehrer in der Schweiz. Während seiner Professur an der Universität Erfurt von 1769 bis 1772 gründete er die Zeitschrift »Der Teutsche Merkur«, die eine herausragende Stellung im Geistesleben der Zeit einnahm und so zu Weimars Rolle als literarisches Zentrum beitrug. Er veröffentlichte im Merkur eine Vielzahl eigener Essays und Aufsätze, beschäftigte sich mit philosophischen, politischen, gesellschaftlichen und ästhetischen Fragen. Daneben schrieb er Romane, Satiren und Dramen und übersetzte Shakespeare ins Deutsche. Christoph Martin Wieland starb am 20. Januar 1813 in Weimar.
