The Metropolitan derived the genesis of this way of thinking from theology, and the author finds examples of its application by the Metropolitan himself in the messages of Andrei Sheptytsky in the field of economic relations, national relations, state building, inter-confessional and inter-religious relations. The author supplemented this scientific research with his own vision of what role the positive-sum principle and the formula of Metropolitan Andrey can play in the near future of Ukraine and the world.

Es waren die Schüler und Gefährten Lenins, die den Gewaltexzessen seines Nachfolgers Stalin zum Opfer fielen. Für Michail Ryklin ist dieses Drama persönliche Geschichte. Die Söhne des Urgroßvaters, eines Geistlichen in Smolensk, gehörten zur bolschewistischen Elite. Nikolaj Tschaplin stieg in der Jugendorganisation Komsomol bis zur Führungsebene auf, Sergej, ein paar Jahre jünger, arbeitete schon mit fünfzehn als Kurier und war später für den Auslandsgeheimdienst in Finnland und Estland tätig. Der eine wirkte von innen für die Revolution, der andere wollte sie in die Welt tragen – bis beide in die Mühlen des Terrors gerieten. Gestützt auf Archivmaterial und Erinnerungen von Zeitzeugen rekonstruiert Ryklin das Leben und den gewaltsamen Tod seiner Verwandten, die Teil des sowjetischen Herrschaftssystems waren. Bachtins 1973 beendeter Essay zum Chronotopos erstmals in deutscher Übersetzung erschien, stand die Bachtin-Rezeption hierzulande ganz im Zeichen von Karnevalismus, Polyphonie und Dialogizität. Der Vorschlag des Autors, die Kategorie des Raums in der Romananalyse stärker zu gewichten, stieß auf vergleichsweise geringes Interesse. Aus heutiger Perspektive erweist sich sein Hinweis auf die untrennbare Einheit von Raum und Zeit im Roman als früher Beitrag zu einer Theorieentwicklung, die gegenwärtig als der spatial turn diskutiert wird. Die Wiederauflage des vergriffenen Essays Formen der Zeit und des Chronotopos im Roman mit einem Nachwort, das Bachtins »Raumzeit« theoriegeschichtlich kontextualisiert, möchte Anschlußmöglichkeiten für die aktuellen Raumdebatten in den Geschichts-, Sozial- und Literaturwissenschaften eröffnen.
