"Scream" is a collection of short stories by modern writer Lu Xun. The collection of novels truly depicts the social life from the Revolution of 1911 to the May Fourth Movement. Every article in the book is accompanied by illustrations drawn by Mr. Fan Zeng, a famous Chinese scholar and teacher of traditional Chinese painting, which vividly presents the world in Lu Xun's novels.
Oleksandr Boichenko is known for noticing existentially important moments in everyday life and writing about them in plain, conversational language. "50 Percent Rational" is a collection of 50 short essays on the most discussed topics in Modern Ukraine: the language issue, European integration, the limits of tolerance, ways to find common ground for people of different ages and backgrounds. Nach dem überwältigenden Erfolg seines Theaterstücks Die Macht der Gewohnheit 1974 mit Bernhard Minetti als Zirkusdirektor Caribaldi beschloß Thomas Bernhard: »Diesen großen, wahrscheinlich größten spielend und also lebenden und also unseren bühnendramatischen Wahnsinn verhexenden Schauspieler muß ich noch ausnützen.« 1977 schrieb er diesem Schauspieler ein Stück auf die Person und gab ihm den Titel Minetti. Ein Portrait des Künstlers als alter Mann. Minetti, Der Weltverbesserer und Immanuel Kant, die in den späten siebziger Jahren entstanden und uraufgeführt wurden, bezogen ihre Wirkung aus der von Publikum und Kritik gefeierten Kunst dieses Schauspielers. Sie zeigte sich besonders in seiner Rolle als Weltverbesserer im gleichnamigen, ihm gewidmeten Stück, das eine luzide Präsentation der Dialektik von Herr und Knecht, hier: die Frau des Weltverbesserers, präsentiert. Der, in seiner Existenz von dieser Frau abhängig, spekuliert darüber, warum sein »Traktat zur Verbesserung der Welt« in achtunddreißig Sprachen übersetzt worden ist, die Stadt Frankfurt ihn sogar zum Ehrenbürger ernannt hat, aber Trier, die Geburtsstadt von Karl Marx, genausowenig wie der Rest der Welt dessen Inhalt begreift. Der vorliegende Band zeigt Thomas Bernhard auch als Meister des Dramoletts: In Der deutsche Mittagstisch hat er seine kabarettistisch-satirischen Politparodien versammelt.
