Description
Nane Barseghyan, who grew up in Soviet Armenia, leaves everything behind and travels to the Rojava, a region of Syrian Kurdistan in hopes of finding her real father. During the trip, Nane is accompanied by her niece, journalist Alma Barseghyan. In a place devastated by war and violence, the main characters become lucky to serve in the women's brigade, where brave women protect the land that has not seen peace for a long time. The army of women teaches the most important lesson: nothing in life is given without a fight.
The story of Nane Barseghyan develops against the background of the struggle against the Islamic State, Turkish troops and the harsh reality of Syria. In this novel, Magda Tagtachyan combines emotional narrative and journalistic insight. And creates a story about identity and love gained in a war-torn area.

Author Biography
Magda Tagtachyan (born in 1967) is a writer and journalist. Born in Buenos Aires, she is a representative of the third generation of Argentine Armenians. Worked for Clarín magazine for 20 years, correspondent for Gente and Para Ti periodicals. The Armenian National Council of South America awarded her the Hrant Dink Award in 2018. The first book of the Argentinian-Armenian writer was published in 2016. The book was dedicated to the story of the author's grandmother, who survived the Genocide. Tagtachyan is the author of three novels: "Alma Armenia", "Rojava" and "Artsakh". These novels are considered a trilogy, but they can also be read as stand-alone works. The books have been translated into different languages and published in several Latin American countries.
