Author Biography
Marthe Pelletier would have loved to live in the Wild West but, unfortunately for her she was born a few hundred years too late, in 1952, in the small village of Cabano, Quebec. From script writing to directing and producing, Marthe worked for more than twenty years in documentary filmmaking all the while jotting down ideas for children’s books. In the year 2000, she decided to shift the balance; she would write children’s literature and watch documentaries rather than make them. Author of 19 books, Marthe’s first novel Chante pourmoi, Charlotte was published by La Courte Échelle in 2001. Driven by her boundless imagination she creates works of intimate and emotional fiction.
Veteran of the underground comic book scene, working in the shadows under his many aliases ( Richard Suicide and William Parano ), Richard Écrapou, born Beaulieu in 1961, is now lending his expertise, his quirky big nosed characters and his witty humour to the world of children’s literature.
