Based in Ireland, Storyline Literary Agency was set up in 2019 by Brian Langan, a former editor at Penguin Random House, with the aim of disovering and nurturing the very best in new and emerging literary talent, and finding the ideal publishers for our clients. Our primary focus is on literary and genre fiction, and narrative non-fiction. Recent publishing deals include Iron Annie by Luke Cassidy (Bloomsbury, September 2021); Line by Niall Bourke (Tramp Press, spring 2021); and Fallen by Mel O'Doherty (Bluemoose Books, June 2021).

One of our first clients was Tara Books, who only had one book in their catalogue at the time! We like to start with new publishers and grow along them over time. We like funky and innovative styles and illustrations and represent quirky adult titles and fun children books. Sea of Stories is about bridging the gap between countries and cultures, finding the best of each and sharing it with a broader audience. We hope to add to the mix, offering you some of the best in Brazilian, Dutch, English, French, and Spanish literature! We provide every client with detailed editing and marketing advice, and we match our clients with the best publishers in the US and Canada as well as around the world. Authors have many opportunities for publication beyond North America and due to our experience at the forefront of international literary markets, we are uniquely positioned to manage a writer's career globally, from print to television and film rights, to translated editions, audio and e-book editions. With nearly three decades of experience in publishing, Claire Roberts knows the industry from both the publisher side and the agency side of the business, and has negotiated many major contracts for authors. She has held executive positions at Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and worked most recently at a major literary agency, Trident Media Group. At Trident she was Vice-President and Managing Director of the Foreign Rights department and developed her own client list. Claire Roberts has handled the international literary careers of many authors, including winners of the Pulitzer Prize and the Booker Prize. Among the many authors she has worked with are Marilynne Robinson, Esi Edugyan, Justin Cronin, Michael Ondaatje, Marlon James, Jokha Alharthi, Elizabeth George, former Google chairman Eric Schmidt, Ayana Mathis, Jon Krakauer, Paul Harding, and W. Bruce Cameron.

Editions Stock (subsidiary of Hachette Livre SA)
Founded in 1708, Stock is one of the oldest publishing houses in France and has been part of the Hachette Group since 1961. In the prestigious series LA BLEUE, Stock publishes the finest multi-award winning writers from Françoise Sagan to Philippe Claudel, and new voices such as Adrien Bosc. Recently, it has expanded to include high-end women’s literary fiction. Its foreign fiction list (LA COSMOPOLITE series) includes great authors from Carson McCullers to Paolo Cognetti, from many languages. On the non-fiction side, the list is quite eclectic from philosophy (Louis Althusser) to thought-provoking investigation (Garance Le Caisne), and health with our best-selling author, Michel Cymes.
