Die Idee zu dem Roman lieferte der nie aufgeklärte Tod des ehemaligen Ministerpräsidenten von Schleswig-Holstein Uwe Barschel im Genfer Hotel Beau-Rivage.

I am Uwe Mayer, freelance Illustrator, author, designer and now also publisher of my children's picture book „DIE LAUFMASCHINE“, or in the English translation: “The Bicycling Baron". The book playfully tells the story of the invention of the bicycle from the very start. As a subject long overdue, it is original, based on fact and yet told in a humorous and original format with great illustrations throughout. DIE LAUFMASCHINE won the 1st prize from the State of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) for its original idea & concept in 2017. With further funding I was in the lucky position to not only create this important book project, but also publish it in 2019. Die Laufmaschine was nominated by the STIFTUNG BUCHKUNST for “Most Beautiful German Books" („Die Schönsten Deutschen Bücher“), Long List 2019. For this title I am offering foreign rights.

Bernd Liske, born in 1956, studied mathematics in Chemnitz and is the owner of Liske information management systems. From its founding in 1998 until May 2015, Bernd Liske was a member of the main board of BITKOM, where he worked in the defense, education and knowledge management working groups. In the course of his efforts to deal with the revelations of Edward Snowden in the NSA affair, he was expelled from BITKOM in 2015. From 1998 to 2003 he was a member of the board of the Association of Organizations and Information Systems (VOI). Bernd Liske has been dealing with socio-political issues for many years. In his analyzes and concepts, he deals with social, political and economic problems in our society in order to make contributions to maintaining Germany as a business location. His book “PRISM A Lesson for our Democracy”, published in September, grew out of this. Edizioni Helvetia was born in 1972 from an idea of the poet and musician Gianni Spagnol who, after a six-year experience in Zurich as a printer at an important publishing complex, wanted to found in Venice - between Campo San Rocco and Campo San Tomà, not far from the Frari Church - a printing house/publishing house that would promote and stimulate the historical-literary production of the Venetian and Venetian area in detail. Then, with the 90s, the company was moved to the mainland.
