We are an independent publisher, founded at the beginning of 2009 in the city of Montevideo, the southernmost capital of America. Throughout the years, we have been publishing fictional and non-fictional narratives, children’s books, political essays as well as photography books, under the collections named: Us (Nosotros), Stone like You (Piedra como tú), Walter’s Library (Biblioteca de Walter) and About Narratives (De Narrativa). Our titles are issued in printed and digital versions, which can be found at digital stores such as Amazon and Bajalibros, among digital libraries and the main bookstores in Uruguay, Argentina and Chile. In addition, some of our books were translated into Italian and Portuguese. In the last few years, we have applied new technologies to develop products for the publishing sector. We created the webBook Digital Educational Contents (Contenidos educativos digitales) and the appbook Professions’ Factory (Fábrica de oficios), among other projects that are currently underway in this area. All our production is self-managed and strongly independent. The books we make are carefully thought through. In every release, the aesthetic care put in the edition, its narrative, illustrations, and photographs, seek to create an attractive object, aimed to inspire the desire to be included in every library.

Established by Alberto Mondadori in 1958, il Saggiatore is an independent publishing house focused on literary fiction and non-fiction, with a particular emphasis on science, history and economics. Our wide-ranging non-fiction list comprises the likes of Claude Lévi-Strauss, Jean-Paul Sartre, Fernand Braudel, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Daron Acemoglu, Paul Mason, Jaron Lanier, Joseph Mazur, Mark Cousins and Piero Camporesi, among others. Our ever-growing literary fiction list includes Allen Ginsberg, Witold Gombrowicz, Joan Didion, Geoff Dyer, Olivia Laing, Esther Kinsky, Mircea Cărtărescu, László Darvasi, Akwaeke Emezi, Emma Glass, Mike McCormack and David Peace, to name just a few. Shortly after the birth of the publishing house, speaking to an Italian newspaper, Alberto Mondadori said: “I’m an explorer, I like to travel in time”. Sixty years later, his words and his vision live on, and il Saggiatore’s project is still the same: to publish books that can stand the test of time.

As an independent publishing house, Klarant Verlag publishes a wide range of books. Klarant Verlag has been founded in 2011 and since then published more than 900 fiction titles. Our portfolio ranges from cozy crime titles to contemporary romance, e.g. Biker and Motorcycle Club lovestories. Der Lech markiert seit Jahrhunderten die Grenze zwischen Alt-Baiern und Schwaben. Trotzdem gab es zu allen Zeiten einen regen Austausch hüben wie drüben, auch wenn der jeweils andere jenseits des Flusses immer ein Stück weit "fremd" geblieben war. Oft ein Ergebnis politischer Machtstrukturen. So war es für die Baiern selbstverständlich, dass das Leprosenhaus, der Friedhof und der Galgen "schwabseits" standen. Uns liegt es am Herzen, Grenzen verschwimmen zu lassen. Nicht nur im Zwischenmenschlichen, sondern auch über literarische Genre-Grenzen hinweg. Der Baumeister von Landsberg ist - nach Aussage vieler Leser - eine gelungene Mischung aus historisch getreuem Sachbuch und unterhaltsamer Belletristik. Das versuchen wir auch in unseren Kriminalromanen wiederzugeben. In unseren Romanen und Kurzgeschichten-Sammlungen werden die Protagonisten mit Grenzen konfrontiert, die das Leben selbst mit sich bringt. Dabei soll die Bandbreite menschlichen Handelns aufgezeigt werden, das oft auch gesellschaftliche Konventionen in Frage stellt.
