The Austrian Publishers and Booksellers Association (Hauptverband des Österreichischen Buchhandels, HVB) represents the interests of Austria´s book industry. It supports its 480 members - namely, publishers, booksellers, wholesalers and publishing house agents – in economic and political matters. Fair copyright laws and the preservation of the Austrian policy regarding a fixed book price are one of the major objectives of the association. Further important projects of the HVB are the annual Vienna International Book Fair (BUCH WIEN), the annual Austrian Book Price and the organization of presentation areas for Austrian literature on international book fairs in the whole world. The HVB also holds the ISBN-agency for Austria and publishes the magazine “Anzeiger” for it’s community once a month.
