      • CAMELOZAMPA snc di Segato F. e Saorin S.

CAMELOZAMPA is an independent children’s books publisher, founded in Italy in 2011 and winner of the BOP 2020 - Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of the Year (Europe). Our aim is to publish fresh and inspiring picture books and novels that help young readers in pursuing happiness, understanding diversities, becoming aware of themselves. One of our strong points is the rediscovery of international masterpieces that never appeared on the Italian market or that have not been available for long time. Alongside these redescoveries we carry out a creative production work, thanks to Italian and international authors and illustrators who share with us the fascinating and unpredictable path which leads to the birth of a children’s book. We think independent publishers have the task to cultivate bibliodiversity, in order to get narrations to their readers, through images and words that can amaze, excite, reflect, offer unexpected glimpses and open windows on far-off or nearby different worlds.

        The Society of Fine Folks

        by Tobie Nathan

A saga set between Cairo and post WWII Paris, imbued with magic realism. Born into poverty in a destitute Jewish quarter of old Cairo, Zohar arrives in France with no family, no friends and no money. His only companion is the ghost of Dieter Boehm, his Nazi torturer. He leaves behind a war-torn Egypt: a land as unhealthy as its king, Faruk, who is softened by a life of luxury; a country poisoned by the rise of the Muslim Brother, by former Nazis infiltrating its army, pogroms against the Jews and the rebellion lead by the powerful Nasser.Once in France, he shares his obsessions with Aaron, Lucien and Paulette, three people bound by their determination to break with an oppressive past. They treat their former tormentors to the same procedure: two bullets to the head, the first for revenge, the other as a signature. This is the story that Zohar’s son François uncovers. It will help him understand the mysterious promise his father made to the “Society of Fine Folks” – a promise François decides to honour.

        It's Beyond Me

        by Nadav Kremer

It’s beyond me is the personal story of each and every one of us who has experienced a severe personal crisis in the middle of his life, and whose life immediately changes thereafter. The protagonist of this tale, a successful man in his mid-forties, experiences a breakdown when both of his parents die, his wife asks for a divorce and he is forced to leave his home. Furthermore, a significant portion of his savings, which he invested in the Madoff funds on the assumption that they were rock solid, evaporates into thin air. Our hero seeks to rebuild his life, by sincerely and honestly addressing the questions of his existence. During his journey, he meets a wise old man, who approaches him as an emissary of the supernal spiritual levels of existence. For the first time in his life, our hero is exposed to an ancient truth that comes from the world of the Jewish Kabballah and esoteric knowledge millennia in the past- the book of Zohar. There, he receives clear answers. What is our essence as human beings? What can we do here in the course of our short lives? How can we best perform our roles? The book discusses the fundamental spiritual matter that the creator made out of the void and which forms, in truth, all of the creation in which we live.
