Today We’re Doing Nothing At All
by Yuu & Shinn
A compilation by Yuu and Shinn throughout their long journey. After graduating from the university in 2015, Yuu set off from Hangzhou and started his plans to cycle to Manchester. Shinn stayed back in Hangzhou to work. Occasionally, she would travel alone or meet up with Yuu at his current location and they would then travel together. Two years later, Shinn resigned from her job and flew to Bulgaria to join Yuu in his rides. This book records their separate encounters as well as those that they had been through together in Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, China, Bulgaria, Macedonia and other places. The book looks into the outback and townships, culture and religion, the connection between people and land and also the relationship among people. It also touches on fine matters such as loneliness and moves to vast issues like the mystic universe. Yuu loves to communicate with others through his camera. A story for each shot, his narrative often short and to the point. Shinn is meticulous and good at writing about the human race. She could merge her daily life into her journey, her travel is a journey through time. Their sojourn was not always free and easy. But they were able to embrace the earth, feel life, effortlessly as they had an abundance of the right spirit.
