        Cue and Cut

        A practical approach to working in multi-camera studios

        by Roger Singleton-Turner

        Cue & Cut is a 'practical approach to working in television studios' for anyone who might want to work in that medium. It's full of useful information about kit, and how you would use it to create multi-camera content. Written by a multi-camera producer-director with years of drama and teaching experience, it presents both a way of handling studios and a source of information about how things have changed from the days of monochrome to HD tapeless modes - with some thoughts on 3D HDTV The book is firmly based in first-hand teaching experience and experience of producing, direction, floor managing (and so on) and on working with top flight Actors, Writers, Musicians, Designers of all disciplines and Sound and Camera crews, both at the BBC and in ITV. The book will certainly cover multi-camera aspects of Undergraduate, HND and B.Tech courses and should be useful to those on short courses, whether practical or post-graduate.

        Die Geschichte der gestiefelten Kitty

        by Beatrix Potter, Quentin Blake, Sabine Erbrich

        »Es war einmal eine ehrliche, wohlerzogene junge schwarze Katze« … Dass Kitty alles andere als ehrlich und wohlerzogen ist, liegt bei einer Erzählung von Beatrix Potter natürlich auf der Hand. Dass sie ihrem Frauchen, einer liebenswürdigen alten Dame, aber derart hinterlistige Streiche spielt, damit konnte niemand rechnen. Anstatt nämlich brav im Gartenhäuschen zu nächtigen, streunt Kitty in Frack, Pelzstiefeln und mit einer Schrotflinte bewaffnet durch die Wälder und begegnet allerlei fiesen Gestalten wie zwei ungehobelten Frettchen und – zu Kittys großem Entsetzen – schließlich auch dem hundsgemeinen Fuchs Mr. Todd. Zum Glück gibt es da noch ihre Freunde, die Kitty aus dem größten Schlamassel wieder heraushelfen … Eine bisher unveröffentlichte Geschichte von Beatrix Potter - erstmals auf Deutsch Mit Illustrationen des britischen Großmeisters Sir Quentin Blake

        William Holman Hunt

        Painter, painting, paint

        by Carol Jacobi

        This is a fundamental reassessment of the work of William Holman Hunt, and the first critical text to reproduce his pictures in colour and set him on an international stage. Introducing a new critique of the autobiography and drawing on hundreds of private letters, drawings and paintings, the author depicts a radical man of his times, deeply troubled by the pivotal concerns of the materialist age - the isolation of the individual, the collapse of faith and the status of art - and seeking solutions through a systematic testing of the extremes of painting. A close examination of the pictures, including neglected later works, combined with recent scientific research relate the physical act of painting, and the paint, back to the body of the artist. Lavishly illustrated and engagingly written, this book answers the longstanding lack of any monograph on Hunt and will make compelling reading for undergraduate and graduate students of History of Art, Victorian Studies, English Literature and Religious Studies, as well as curators, conservators and the artist's many admirers. ;
