Doch kurzweilig wird es allemal, wenn ein Dichter und ein Bildkünstler vom Range Enzensbergers und Tripps uns den Schein des Lebens vor Augen führen. Sie war Sängerin der legendären Musikgruppe Velvet Underground, modelte bei Coco Chanel, spielte in Fellinis La dolce vita und Filmen von Andy Warhol oder stand mit dem Saxophonisten von Sun Ra, mit Tangerine Dream, Kevin Ayers und Brian Eno auf der Bühne. Sie suchte die Nähe schöpferischer Rockmusiker, die auch große Lyriker waren: Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, Jimi Hendrix und vor allem Jim Morrison, der sie ermutigte, selber Lieder zu komponieren. Als Christa Päffgen im Nazi- und Nachkriegsdeutschland aufgewachsen, begann sie ein neues, kreativ-selbstzerstörerisches Leben in Paris, New York und Ibiza. Sie war Muse und Göttin, mütterlich warm und teutonisch kühl, produktiv und todesnah – eine große Projektionsfläche, eine Sphinx aus Eis. Gegen Ende ihres Lebens hatte sie vor, mehr zu schreiben: Gedichte und ihre Autobiographie. Nun setzt der Dramatiker Werner Fritsch der unergründlichen Popikone Nico in seinem furiosen Monolog ein Denkmal, legt ihre Wurzeln und Abgründe offen und verleiht ihr eine neue, seine Sprache.
