Die Geschichte von Doktor Dolittle
by Hugh Lofting, Reinhard Michl, Eike Schönfeld

by Laura Shaine Cunningham, Juliane Zaubitzer

by Uwe Johnson, Max Frisch, Eberhard Fahlke, Eberhard Fahlke

Ilias. Odyssee
Zwei Bände im Schuber
by Homer, Michael Schroeder, Karl Ferdinand Lempp

My Father's Secret
The BND, my family and I
by Corinna von Bassewitz
For a long time, Corinna von Bassewitz believed her father was a soldier, later on that he was a diplomat. Then, at the age of 16, she learnt something unbelievable: he had been a secret agent for the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND, Germany's Federal Intelligence Service). Once the secret had been at least partly uncovered, she became something of a spy herself and eventually found some confidential documents in her parents' attic. Later, she realised that her father had been living as a double agent for the FRG and the GDR. So what effect does it have on a girl if her father conceals his true identity and eventually disappears without trace? Along with her family history, the author provides multi-layered and exciting insights into the historical context of the Cold War. A very personal book, intriguingly told and emotionally touching.

Azuki Bean
Botany, Production and Uses
by Thomas A Lumpkin, Dean C McClary
Azuki is one of the twelve most important grain legumes in the world and is grown widely in China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. It has also been produced or studied in several other countries, including the USA (Minnesota and Washington States), Argentina and Australia. In Japan, azuki is an essential ingredient of both seki-han, a festive rice dish, and an, a sweetened bean paste. Botanically, it formerly belonged to the genus Phaseolus, but it has recently been transferred to the genus Vigna with relatives such as mungbean, black gram and rice bean. This book is the first comprehensive work on this crop. It draws extensively on the Chinese, Japanese and other East Asian literature and is based on a review of approximately 800 published references. It is a definitive reference work that should greatly enhance interest in the crop. It is aimed at researchers throughout the world working on grain legumes, as well as others in agronomy and plant science.

Under the Azure Sky
by Shi Lei
This picture book tells a meaningful growth story through a boy and his father saving, raising, and releasing a pigeon. The boy rescued a wounded pigeon and looked after it carefully. When the pigeon recovered, the boy and his father began to train it to increase its flying distance from 30 kilometers to 80 kilometers and more. The story comes to an abrupt end after the climax, leaving a great deal of suspense for readers. It did not give a clear answer to where the pigeon finally went. Perhaps it went back to the free sky, since the sky is the real home for a flyer. The same is true of children's growth. Only after experiencing trials and hardships can they fly to their own stages of life.
