The book 10 Classic Irish Poets, published by Ediciones del Lirio,Mexico 2023, includes a selection of ten Irish poets (from both theRepublic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), considered classics of the20th century. The poets selected by Argentine translator and compilerJorge Fondebrider include the legendary Patrick Kavangah (1904-1967), who is considered one of the founders of contemporary Irishpoetry, and Seamus Heaney (1939-2013), the fourth Irish NobelLaureate in Literature in 1995.In Jorge Fondebrider's present compilation "the most influential voicesof twentieth-century Irish poetry that, in their own right, can be calledclassics have been privileged.
