      • The gardener of other's soil

        by Seyed Ali Shoajee

The gardener of others’ soil is the first volume of a bio-ethical-based collection written by Seyed Ali Shojaei. Shojaei has previously published two literary and philosophical collections, namely “Children’s Philosophy” and “Children’s Life Skills” which have been translated into eight languages and have received various national and foreign literary awards. This book revolves around the patience concept and represents the fact that haste will waste everything. In other words, if you rush, you lose your desires and you can not be pleased by its ramification. In this book, children plant wheat and wait for its growth. Then, they try to provide the necessities such as sunlight and rain, etc. But, they can not wait so long to see the result. However, the seeds teach them to be patient. Moreover, waiting for the results earlier than usual resembles planting a seed in someone else’s field. In addition, Narges Ziani, the illustrator, depicts an imaginary world by juxtaposing realism and surrealism techniques as if the illustrations had been created beforehand in a way that helps the audience to understand the text better.
