        Oikoá

        by Felipe Valério

        The name of this book is Oikoá, which means life in the language of the Guarani Mbya people. This name was chosen because the indigenous peoples have been the guardians of life on planet Earth: it is in their territories that there are more types of trees and plants, animals, fish, birds, insects, and where the rivers and forests are best preserved.

        Amelie Trott and the Earth Watchers

        by Moyra Irving

        This is the extraordinary story of how one small girl stopped a planetary catastrophe. It’s a very timely book, written for the child in us all, with a forceful message about the power of young people to transform the world - a theme currently demonstrated by brave young heroes like Greta Thunberg. And with magical synchronicity, the very week Greta began her lone vigil outside the Swedish government last year, over 1,000 miles (1,897 km) away in the fictional world of books, Amelie Trott took to Parliament Square, London - on a mission to avert the End of the World. It’s a family drama with an international feel - set mainly in England but with episodes in Washington DC and around the world.

        by Márcia Leite

        Humans, who hold the power and exercise it for their own benefit, do not see the other beings of that universe. Drei Bände in Kassette

        Am Anfang war Erziehung (st 951), Das Drama des begabten Kindes (st 950), Du sollst nicht merken (st 952)

        by Alice Miller

        Alice Miller wurde am 12. Januar 1923 in Polen geboren. Sie studierte in Basel Philosophie, Psychologie und Soziologie. Nach der Promotion machte sie in Zürich ihre Ausbildung zur Psychoanalytikerin und übte 20 Jahre lang diesen Beruf aus. 1980 gab sie ihre Praxis und Lehrtätigkeit auf, um zu schreiben. Seitdem veröffentlichte sie 13 Bücher, in denen sie die breite Öffentlichkeit mit den Ergebnissen ihrer Kindheitsforschungen bekannt machte. Sie verstand ihre Suche nach der Realität der Kindheit als einen scharfen Gegensatz zur Psychoanalyse, die in der alten Tradition das Kind beschuldigt und die Eltern schont. Alice Miller ist am 14. April 2010 im Alter von 87 Jahren verstorben.

This is a collection of interviews and discussions with directors who have helped shape the development of theatre in the last 20 years. They include Peter Brook, Peter Stein, Augusto Boal, Jorge Lavelli, Lluis Pasqual, Lev Dodin, Maria Irene Fornes, Jonathan Miller, Jatinder Verma, Peter Sellars, Declan Donnellan, Ariane Mnouchkine, Ion Caramitru, Yukio Ninagawa and Robert Wilson. In addition to the art and craft of directing, there are discussions on multiculturalism; the "classical" repertoire; theatre companies and institutions; working in a foreign language; opera; Shakespeare; new technologies; the art of acting; design; international festivals; politics and aesthetics; the audience; and theatre and society. Finally, there is an epilogue by Peter Brook, Jonathan Miller and Oliver Sacks. ;

        Mein liebes Berlin

        by Meir Sussman

        Mein liebes Berlin - von Meir Sussman Hintergrund des Romans ist die Geschichte Berlins seit dem 2. Weltkrieg bis Mitte der 80er Jahre. Während des NS-Regimes werden die jüdischen Protagonisten von Berlin zuerst in das Ghetto von Lodz und dann nach Auschwitz deportiert. Wir erfahren von der Zeit in Lodz und Auschwitz und wie sie nach Kriegsende in ihre Heimatstadt zurückkehren, um das jüdische Gemeindezentrum wieder aufzubauen. Im geteilten und zerstörten Nachkriegsberlin herrscht große Not. Ästhetik, Kultur und Komfort existieren Seite an Seite mit dem Elend der Stadt, mit den Betrunkenen, Bettlern, Kriegerwitwen und Händlern, die die Hinterlassenschaften der Überlebenden zu Geld machen. Die Protagonisten treffen sich Mitte der 80ger Jahre beim Pessach Seder (dem traditionellen jüdischen Mahl am Vorabend des Pessachfestes, mit dem die Befreiung von der Sklaverei und der Auszug der Juden aus Ägypten gefeiert wird) und diskutieren das Schicksal der überlebenden Juden. Der Gastgeber erinnert sich an das Fest 1941, das er im Ghetto von Lodz feiern mußte. Was hat die Überlebenden letztlich dazu bewegt,  nach Berlin zurückzukehren und dort ein neues Leben aufzubauen ? Die Frage wird immer wieder gestellt, gibt es eine Antwort ? Die mannigfaltigen Veränderungen der Stadt von einer Weltstadt vor dem Krieg zu einer geteilten Insel zwischen Ost und West bis in das Berlin kurz vor der Wende werden aus der persönlichen Perspektive der Protagonisten lebendig. Meir Sussman, geb. in Jerusalem studierte Film (New York) und Theologie (Berlin). Er produzierte den erfolgreichen Film Zacharia (Deutschland 1985-86, Drehbuch und Regie: Irene Dische). Eine seiner Kurzgeschichten, Die Bau - Maus, wurde in der Zeitschrift  Der Alltag (Zürich, 1989) unter dem Pseudonym Max Katzenfuß veröffentlicht. Der Autor hat neben mehreren preisgekrönten Theaterstücken auch zwei Kinderbücher veröffentlicht: Der tolle Koch (Jerusalem, 1997) sowie Benjamin der Gute und Benjamin der Böse (Jerusalem, 1999). Sussman arbeitet an seiner Promotion in Mikrobiologie an der James Cook-Universität, Australien. Rechte in deutscher und anderen Sprachen noch erhältlich
