Sie studierte Sozialwissenschaften in Jerusalem und arbeitete in Tel Aviv mit Kindern bis zu ihrer Pensionierung. 1994 ist Aviva Lipstein in Tel Aviv gestorben. Fue traducido al inglés por Ora Cummings, que es natural del reino Unido. El libro está adaptado a la vida contemporánea de Inglaterra (pero puede también referirse a otros países) dentro del marco universal que supone el paso del niño del ambiente protector de la guardería infantil a la atmósfera mas exigente de la “gran” escuela. El libro cuenta con 40 páginas en su forma final, con portada de tapa dura en color y con ilustraciones a dos colores en su interior. La autora, Aviva Lipstein , que falleció en 1994, creció en Francia, en Paris y Niza en la riviera francesa. Durante la segunda guerra mundial, fue protegida y educada por monjas dominicanas, y después de la guerra se asentó en el nuevo estado de Israel. La señora Lipstein se graduó en trabajo social en la universidad Hebrea de Jerusalén y hasta su jubilación trabajó con niños pequeños. Vivió en Tel Aviv, se casó y tuvo dos hijos y una hija, como también un nieto – todos ellos fueron evocados en sus cuentos.

Sam Hanna's visual legacy

Sam Hanna (1903-96), a pioneering filmmaker from Burnley, Lancashire, was dubbed the 'Lowry of filmmaking' by BBC broadcaster Brian Redhead in the 1980s. The well-meant label stuck, even though it misses the variety of Hanna's remarkable output. Hanna's intimate glimpses into the lives of strangers enable us to imagine the possible stories that lie behind the images. Away from mid-century exponents of documentary filmmaking and photography, Hanna shows us humanity and a microcosm of a world in change, where his subjects are caught up in issues far beyond their grasp that we, as onlookers years later, encounter and see afresh. Written and curated by historian Heather Norris Nicholson, Round our way combines stills, essays and archive photography to document Hanna's unique visual record on film, particularly in northern England, but also further afield, during decades of profound change.

Searle mit 'Intentionalität' eine Untersuchung zu einem Kernstück der Philosophie des Geistes vorgelegt, die in einem engen thematischen Zusammenhang mit den früheren Arbeiten steht. Intentionalität ist nach Searles Auffassung die Basis sprachlicher Bedeutung. In seiner Theorie der Intentionalität geht es um die begrifflichen Eigenschaften intentionaler Zustände (auf die Frage nach ihrem ontologischen Status geht er ausführlicher ein in 'Geist, Hirn und Wissenschaft', stw 591). Zwei Aspekte stehen dabei im Vordergrund der Untersuchung: die Logik der Repräsentation und der Kausalität intentionaler Zustände. Doch Searle entwickelt in dieser Arbeit nicht nur eine Theorie der Intentionalität und des Zusammenhangs zwischen sprachlichem und geistigem Inhalt. In einem vornehmlich kritischen Teil setzt er sich ausführlich mit konkurrierenden Auffassungen aus dem Bereich der analytischen Philosophie auseinander, insbesondere mit derzeit sehr einflußreichen 'nicht-deskriptivistischen' Theorien des Bezugs, wie sie von S. Kripke, H. Putnam, K. Donnellan, T. Burge und D. Kaplan vertreten und angeregt wurden.

While acknowledging this, the book goes further in an effort to account for the way the film has passed into the wider culture. People born decades after its first appearance are now adept at picking up references to it, whether a black-and-white scene in a much later film or a passing joke about a bald man in a barber's shop.
