        Gdansk: Swedish cards of history.

        by Wojciech Lygas

Do you know how much Sweden is in Gdańsk? What role did the city play in the battle of Sigismund III Vasa for the Swedish throne? What gift from Queen Christina is in the Oliwa Monastery? What do Gdańsk and Visby have in common? Architecture, political emigration, art, religion, trade - the traces of the Swedish presence in Gdańsk have many faces. Wojciech Łygaś focused on little-known facts, rarely described before. An outline of the cultural and political relations between Gdańsk and Sweden up to the mid-18th century was created, set against such important historical events as the Reformation, the Northern Wars, Polish-Swedish conflicts and the history of the Hanseatic League.

        Basic emotions - Sadness

by Tatjana Gjurković. Tea Knežević, Jelena Brezovec

The basic reasons for children to feel sad are the loss or separation from their favorite object or person. But the idea of separation itself can trigger the feeling of sadness. Regardless of whether the loss has actually happened or the child is merely thinking it could happen, the emotional need that occurs “behind” the feeling of sadness is the need for support, feeling secure, consolation, and replacing the lost. Picture books are focused on the following topics: - Hedgehog is sad because he didn’t win the game / Sadness due to failure or how to teach children that it is alright to feel sad, but that the only person to compare ourselves to is us alone, that one must always try hard and try again - Mouse is sad because he misses his parents / Sadness due to separations from parents or how to console children with simple messages when they miss the parents, how to convince them that they are safe and that their parents will be with them soon - Piglet is sad and jealous of his brother / Sadness due to insufficient attention or how to recognize sadness in children that is “concealed” behind some other emotion like jealousy because of lack of parental attention - Giraffe is sad because grandpa is gone / Sadness due to losing a loved one or how to explain to a child what it means to “die” and provide them with consolation after a family death

        Caja continua de voces

        by Pablo Martín Ruiz

Essays, travel journals, reflections, epigrams, visual poetry, lists, notes, paradoxes, compilations, critiques, stories, outlines, translations, palindromes, these are all the bricks with which, in the manner of a certain Chinese encyclopedia, a sort of epistemology of restriction and of the unusual is built. A necklace where no two pearls are alike: the bet, of course, is centered on the thread that ties them together. It gives the impression that the author, owner of a playful, penetrative gaze, is concerned with the poetic dimension of the pure forms of language and that absolutely nothing is alien to him.The result is an absolutely singual, stimulating, and highly entertaining book, which makes us gratefully abandon the place of our comfortable ideas.
