        The case of Vasyl Stus

        by Vakhtanh Kipiani

        Poet and civil rights activist Vasyl Stus (1938-1985) could not attend any of his book presentations. He published his literary works only abroad. Participation in the movement of protesters to the Russification and anti-Ukrainian politics and an active people’s rights protection stance led Stus to the court bench to times and both for the anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda. This book contains documents from a six-volume criminal case, which is stored on the shelves of the former Committee for State Security archive of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic in Kyiv. The book contains archival documents of the case of Vasyl Stus (records of searches, interrogations, letters, articles, etc.), photographs, articles wrote by Vakhtang Kipiani. The last lifetime notes of Stus are also added - "From the camp notebook", secretly passed to his friends from the soviet camp. Preface to the book is written by Vakhtang Kipiani.

        Memory is a double-edged sword that is both a blessing and a curse.   In the halls of a hospital, echoes of human suffering and triumph ring loudest, imprinting indelible marks upon the minds of its workers. Some memories are sweet, a blissful balm to recall; others knives-sharp, wounding the soul.   Death and life, pain and healing, laughter and tears - however we choose to remember them, they remain forever unforgettable.   20 cases, 20 writers.   Regardless of whether we are healthcare workers or patients, our humanity ultimately remains the same.   Just one more case - that unforgettable one.

        Case Studies in Ecotourism

        by Ralf C Buckley

        As a counterpart to the growing volume of more theoretical literature in ecotourism, this volume presents a global compilation and analysis of over 170 real-life case studies in ecotourism, selected after an extensive screening process. It includes ecotours on land and sea, ecolodges and resorts, private reserves and public parks. The case studies range from the world’s best models to test cases, small and large, unique to representative. Data has been drawn from independent audits by the author and others, and from published reports from universities, multilateral and non-government organisations. The book shows what ecotourism can achieve and what constraints it faces, and provides a convenient and comprehensive reference for ecotourism enterprises, development agencies and university teaching.

        The subject of love

        Hélène Cixous and the feminine divine

        by Sal Renshaw

        The Subject of Love: Hélène Cixous and the Feminine Divine is about abundant, generous, other-regarding love. In the history of Western ideas of love, such a configuration has been inseparable from our ideas about divinity and the sacred; often reserved only for God; and rarely thought of as a human achievement. This book is a substantial engagement with her philosophies of love, inviting the reader to reflect on the conditions of subjectivity that just might open us to something like a divine love of the other. Renshaw follows this thread in this genealogy of abundant love: the thread that connects the subject of love from 5th century B.C.E. Greece and Plato, to the 20th century protestant theology of agapic love of Anders Nygren, to the late 20th century poetico-philosophy of Hélène Cixous. This study will be of particular interest to academics and students of the history of gender, cultural studies, criticism and gender studies ;
