„Raphaels Rückkehr“ (Krimi, ca. 460 000 Anschl.) Brügge, Sommer 2015. Nach drei Jahren Rehabilitation kehrt Hauptinspektor Raphael Rozenblad an seinen Arbeitsplatz bei der Ortspolizei im flämischen Brügge zurück – und wird sogleich wieder mit dem Fall konfrontiert, der ihn 2012 seine Beine und fast auch sein Leben gekostet hatte: Er hatte einen Lkw mit Flüchtlingen gestoppt und war mit seiner Harley unter den Zwanzigtonner geraten. Jetzt sitzt er im Rollstuhl. Kurz nach Raphaels Auftauchen wird einer der Flüchtlinge von damals ermordet. Bald verdächtigt der Hauptinspektor neben dem alkoholkranken Sternekoch, in dessen Küche der Mord geschah, auch Leute aus den eigenen Reihen, insbesondere Dienststellenleiter Dovenhof und Hauptinspektorin Vandamme. Schnell bröckelt der ohnehin schwache Rückhalt, den der ruppige, tablettensüchtige Rollstuhlfahrer in der Dienststelle hat. Er traut niemandem mehr, selbst nicht der aufrechten Kollegin Anna und schon gar nicht Azif, einem Flüchtling von damals, der jetzt als verdeckter Ermittler für die Bundespolizei einem internationalen Menschenschmugglerring hinterherjagt und Raphael als Verbündeten gewinnen möchte. Als die beiden endlich gemeinsame Sache machen, gehen die Ermittlungen voran und Vandamme entpuppt sich als Dovenhofs Komplizin. Aber ein zweiter Flüchtling wird ermordet. Raphael hält beide Mordwaffen für abgeschliffene Armbrustpfeile, behält das aber für sich, um nicht für noch verrückter gehalten zu werden. Ein Treffen zwischen Azif und einem Mittelsmann, der dem Koch Asylbewerber als willige und billige Arbeitskräfte zuführt, endet in einer Verfolgungsjagd durch die mittelalterliche Stadt, an deren Ende Azif durch den Mittelsmann schwer verletzt wird und dieser sich als ein enger Kollege von Raphael entpuppt. Bei seiner Befragung wird deutlich: Der Chef der Dienststelle ist selbst prominent am Menschenhandel beteiligt. Vandamme sagt aus, dass er sie zur Mittäterschaft angestiftet hat. Ehe Dovenhof selber befragt werden kann, wird er angeschossen, mit einer Armbrust. Jetzt erzählt Raphael seinem Vorgesetzten Piet, dass er auch die Mordwaffen für Armbrustpfeile hielt. Piet sagt daraufhin, dass der Sternekoch Mitglied in einer Armbrustschützengilde ist. Der Koch wird sofort verhaftet. Dabei verletzt er Raphael jedoch lebensgefährlich. Hier endet die Erzählung. Im Nachspann wird kurz skizziert, dass Raphaels Kollegen gemeinsam mit dem genesenen Azif das Geflecht des Menschenschmugglerrings zu entwirren beginnen und der Mörder und die Schuldigen bei der Polizei und anderswo vor Gericht kommen. Ob Raphael überleben wird, bleibt offen. Herausstellungsmerkmal: Dieser Regionalkrimi spielt im flämischen Brügge, einem Tourismusmagneten, der nach dem Kinoerfolg „Brügge sehen und sterben“ endlich mal wieder krimitechnische Aufmerksamkeit in Deutschland verdient hat. Ein Extra-Pluspunkt sind die aktuellen Themen Inklusion, Diversity und Migration, die mit angenehmer Leichtigkeit und einladender Positivität in die Handlung verwoben sind. Lesergruppe: Frauen und Männer mit Spaß an leichter, spannender Lektüre mit ernstem Hintergrund, an Helden mit Ecken und Kanten und daran, ein beliebtes Reiseziel mal von einer ganz neuen Seite kennen zu lernen.

This collection of pictures from the service of the pioneers in the 8th Motorized Rifle Division with short explanatory texts consists almost exclusively of amateur photographs provided by a large number of former members of the 8th MSD. The almost 900 illustrations are an interesting supplement to the book Pioniere in der 8th Motorisierten Schützendivision der Nationalen Volksarmee der DDR.The origin of this book is owed to the members of the Schwerin Pioneer Comradeship and above all to the initiative of their chairman Jochen Schmidt. So it came about that many of them diligently rummaged through their old photo albums and collections, selected the pictures or made their albums completely available for scanning for this documentation. A fortunate circumstance is certainly also that the pioneers hardly had any technology that had to be kept particularly secret, so that prohibitions that were violated when taking pictures were not evaluated as strictly as elsewhere.However, former non-pioneers also contributed some of their old photographs. The main task of the pioneers was to make sure that the actions of the troops and units of the division were properly documented. Many of the photographs on hand therefore show the interaction of the pioneers with the other branches of arms, special forces and services. Therefore, this illustrated book can certainly arouse the interest of the alumni from all these areas. Diese Bildersammlung aus dem Dienst der Pioniere in der 8. Motorisierten Schützendivision mit kurzen erläuternden Texten besteht fast nur aus Amateuraufnahmen, die von einer Vielzahl ehemaliger Angehöriger der 8. MSD bereitgestellt wurden. Die fast 900 Abbildungen sind eine interessante Ergänzung zu dem Buch Pioniere in der 8. Motorisierten Schützendivision der Nationalen Volksarmee der DDR. Die Entstehung dieses Buches ist den Angehörigen der Pionierkameradschaft Schwerin und vor allem der Initiative ihre Vorsitzenden Jochen Schmidt zu verdanken. So kam es, dass viele fleißig in ihren alten Fotoalben und -sammlungen wühlten, die Bilder auswählten oder ihre Alben komplett zum Scannen für diese Dokumentation zur Verfügung stellten. Ein glücklicher Umstand ist sicherlich auch, dass die Pioniere kaum über besonders geheimzuhaltende Technik verfügten und so beim Knipsen übertretene Verbote nicht so streng wie anderswo gewertet wurden. Jedoch auch ehemalige Nichtpioniere steuerten einige ihrer alten Fotografien bei. Die Hauptaufgabe der Pioniere bestand nun einmal in der Pioniersicherstellung der Handlungen der Truppenteile und Einheiten der Division. Viele der vorliegenden Aufnahmen zeigen daher das Zusammenwirken der Pioniere mit den anderen Waffengattungen, Spezialtruppen und Diensten. Darum kann dieser Bildband sicherlich auch Interesse bei den Ehemaligen aus all diesen Bereichen wecken.

The drama lecturer and director Raphael-Maria Goldstein, who claims to be a half-brother of Anne Frank but grew up in a Catholic environment in Duisburg due to adoption as Norbert Hans Burger, offeres his autobiography for publication.Descriptions of his encounters with his mother, the Auschwitz survivor Esther Goldstein, and with his father Otto Frank in Switzerland underpin the biographical details. However, after conversations with Goldstein, who dies in 2021 as a result of ALS, and further research, doubts arise. Journalist Anja Scherz, a friend of the widow, investigates and gradually reveals the secret of "Goldstein - A Phantastic Life".You could also say: a fantasised life. Like many others, such as the blogger Marie-Sophie Hingst, who tragically died by suicide, or the journalist Fabian Wolff, Raphael-Maria Goldstein adopted a Jewish identity and became absorbed in it. Right up to his last wish to be buried in the Jewish cemetery in Cologne, where Goldstein last lived. For her book, Anja Scherz spoke to professional companions, friends and lovers, such as the Swiss author Ruth Schweikert, who died last year. Gradually, the extent of this incredible life story is revealed during her research: Nothing is as it seems, but much seems as if it might have been. Anja Scherz supplements her biographical search for clues with original extracts from the biography written by Goldstein, including letters that he wrote to his imaginary half-sister Anne Frank. The latter in particular makes the whole tragedy of this "fantasy-prone personality" clear. And so "Goldstein - A Fantastic Life" is both a testimony to a dramatic life and an exciting piece of research.

Nadira will stretch out her hand to Federico calling him her prince. But one by one, like sharp mountain peaks, in the path of their love there grow up barriers that they must overcome together. And it is not only the terrible parents of Federico and the accidental death of Nadira's neighbour for which everyone blamed this strange girl. Together with other circus artists they must fight in an abandoned cemetery with the dead army of the gnome Rumpelstiltskin, whither destiny has brought our tireless heroes after a terrible accident. There will be a battle, there will be losses (Federico becomes an orphan), and there will be surprises: victory, capture of the main vilain and the magic fulfilment of their desires. And, of course, there will be a fine new circus in Luneburg belonging to Federico Rafinelli and his… in all respects disastrous speech in Luneburg, during which the "respectable" public will be sent to hell together with their beloved Beam and Boom, summoned by them from hell itself! Are you scared? Don’t be afraid! Everything will end well! It’s just a fairy tale, although it's also completely modern.
