        Kai Flammersfeld und die Transsylvanischen Schicksalskekse

        Der elfjährige Kai Flammersfeld spielt mit Freunden „Räuber und Gendarm“ im Wald. Am alten Waldfriedhof beobachtet er, wie Gestalten aus einer Gruft kriechen. Vampire! Es dauert nicht lange und sie haben ihn entdeckt. Nach einer Verfolgungsjagd wird Kai von den Vampiren gebissen und fällt in Ohnmacht. Als er wieder erwacht, kann er sich an nichts mehr erinnern. Er bemerkt jedoch, dass er sich verändert. Er schläft immer länger, wird blasser und entwickelt einen seltsamen Appetit … Die gerade begonnenen Osterferien verbringt Kai mit seiner besten Freundin Sandra bei seiner Großmutter. Es ist die wohl coolste Großmutter, die er sich vorstellen kann. Sie ist nicht nur ungewöhnlich fit für eine Dame ihres Alters und besucht einen Judo- und Karatekurs. Sie lernt auch Tibetisch bei einem Mönch aus Asien und hat Vampirologie studiert. Die Großmutter erkennt sofort, was mit ihrem Enkel geschieht. Aus einem alten Buch kramt sie das Rezept für Transsylvanische Schicksalskekse hervor, von denen Kai essen muss. Als Kai dies tut, werden seine Augen katzenartig. Das untrügliche Zeichen, dass seine Verwandlung in einen Vampir nicht aufzuhalten ist ... Eines Abends lernt Kai die Vampirkinder kennen, die ihn am Friedhof gebissen haben. Es sind die kluge Gutta von Greifendorf sowie ihre Brüder, der stets ängstliche Gerrith und der etwas ruppig wirkende Gangolf. Kai erfährt, dass er zufälliges Opfer für eine Mutprobe war, die sich Gangolf für seinen Bruder ausgedacht hat, damit dieser endlich weniger ängstlich wird. Die Vampire überreichen ihm das Startset für Neu-Vampire, in dem Kai allerlei Nützliches findet, so zum Beispiel einen Flugumhang, einen Ratgeber für alle vampirischen Lebenslagen oder Trockennahrung für Notzeiten. Aber er erfährt auch, dass ihm in einiger Zeit etwas zutiefst Menschliches abhanden kommen wird. Er wird die Fähigkeit für eine Gefühlsregung verlieren. Welche das ist, wird die Zeit zeigen ... Als die Vampire von den Transsylvanischen Schicksalskeksen hören, werden sie neugierig. Diese Kekse sind genau das, was sie benötigen, denn Vampiropa Gismo ist an Mondfieber erkrankt. Nur Transsylvanische Schicksalskekse können helfen. Doch in der Vampirwelt gibt es diese Kekse nicht mehr, da das letzte Rezeptbuch dafür verschollen ist. Wie kommt es in die Küche einer alten Menschenfrau? Die Vampire bitten die Großmutter um einige Kekse und Kai und Gutta machen sich auf den Weg zu Opa Gismos Burg. Dort erfahren sie, dass der Vampiropa nicht krank ist. Der Rabe Kurt, der nach dem Verzehr eines Kekses sprechen kann, erzählt, dass der Opa entführt wurde. Die Suche nach Gismo führt zu dem Vampirhasser Rufus Wankelmann. Kai und Gutta steigen in den Keller seines Hauses ein, wo sie allerlei Räume durchsuchen. Doch ihre Anwesenheit bleibt nicht unbemerkt. Ein sprechendes Skelett, das ein Gehilfe Wankelmanns ist, stellt ihnen eine Falle. Kai kann entkommen, doch Gutta wird gefangengenommen. Die Vampire müssen mit ansehen, wie Gutta in einem Auto weggebracht wird. Sie verfolgen den Wagen, der bis zu einer Mühle fährt, in die Gutta gebracht wird. Dort befindet sich auch Vampiropa Gismo. Der Versuch, sie zu retten, schlägt jedoch fehl: Wankelmann schafft es, alle Vampire und die Großmutter in seine Gewalt zu bekommen und enthüllt sein teuflisches Vorhaben. Er will die Vampire dem Sonnenlicht aussetzen und aus ihrer Asche Gold herstellen. Nun liegt es einzig und allein an Kai, seine Großmutter, Sandra und seine neuen Freunde zu retten.

He sketches an accurate and detailed portrait of sophisticated, outrageous Biarritz, which turns into the model setting for those golden years of the 1920s during which society sought to break with the most long-established and outdated conventions.

        Kai hat sich entschlossen, nach der Trügerischen Trautelbeere zu suchen. Doch er hat ein Problem: die Osterferien neigen sich dem Ende entgegen und seine ahnungslose Mutter verlangt, dass er nun wieder nach Hause muss. Die Vampire schlagen daher die Spaltzeremonie vor. Dafür tritt Kai vor einen Spaltspiegel und löst sein Spiegelbild von sich, das von nun an sein Leben in der Menschenwelt für ihn weiterführt. Um die Trügerische Trautelbeere zu finden, rät der weise Vampir Renatus Röchel Kai, das Licht der Werwölfe zu besorgen. Im Schein dieses Lichts leuchten die Beeren auf. Doch dazu müssen sich Kai und seine Freunde in die Werwolfstadt begeben, wo sie als Vampire nicht gern gesehen sind. Mit Hilfe des Fledermaus-Geheimdienstes gelangen sie an den Wachen vorbei hinein und treffen den Verbindungsvampir Pärvo. Mit ihm zusammen schleichen sie in die Kapelle der Kernigen Kerstin und tauschen das Licht gegen eine Kopie aus. Doch ihr Plan wird durchschaut. Noch bevor sie aus der Stadt verschwinden können, schlagen die Werwölfe Alarm. Die Freunde begeben sich zu einem Geheimbund von Werwölfen, der sich für die Verständigung mit den Vampiren einsetzt. Doch die Werwölfe sind wenig begeistert als sie erfahren, dass Kai ihr Licht mitnehmen möchte. Nur die Werwölfin Tonya ist auf ihrer Seite und überredet die anderen Mitglieder des Bundes, den Vampiren zu helfen. Als die Wächterwerwölfe auf der Suche nach dem Licht den Unterschlupf des Bundes stürmen, fliehen Kai und seine Freunde auf das Dach des Hauses. Dort warten die Fledermäuse auf sie und bringen sie aus der Stadt.   Sandra indes kann ihre Freunde nicht in die Werwolfstadt begleiten. Sie erfährt jedoch, dass Kai ohne sein Spiegelbild nach dem Trinken des Saftes der Trügerischen Trautelbeere nicht zu einem Tagvampir, sondern zu einem Menschen wird. Die Folgen wären fatal: da es keinen Menschen ohne Spiegelbild gibt, wird Kai sich grausam verändern. Er wird zu einem bösartigen Wesen, in dem jedwede Gefühlsregung abgestorben sein wird. Sandra will ihren Freund warnen, doch gerät sie in eine Falle. Wieland läßt sie in einem Spaltspiegel verschwinden. Es wird nicht lange dauern und Sandra wird aus der Erinnerung aller, die sie kennen, verschwinden. Als Kai davon erfährt, spitzt sich seine Situation zu. Um Sandra zu retten, muss er Mensch sein. Denn Vampire können nicht dorthin gelangen, wo sie sich befindet. Doch es bleibt ihm nicht viel Zeit, seine Freundin zu finden. Auch er wird sie langsam vergessen. Zudem wird er sich in ein gefühlstotes, böses Wesen verwandeln. Bereits jetzt verliert er durch die Vampirwerdung langsam sein Mitgefühl ...

        Die Vampirgeschwister laden Kai und Sandra in ihre Gruft ein, um ihnen zu zeigen, wie schön Vampire wohnen. Dabei entdecken sie tief unter der Erde einen geheimen Raum, in dem die Vampireltern gerade mit einigen anderen versammelt sind. Kai traut seinen Augen nicht: unter den Anwesenden ist auch sein Vater! Die Kinder werden entdeckt und es stellt sich heraus, dass Kais Vater für die Vampire als Spion in der Menschenwelt tätig ist. Doch dies ist nicht die einzige Überraschung für Kai. Er muss in ein Versteck, eine alte Kirche, umziehen. Die von Greifendorfs organisieren auf einer Burg eine internationale Vampirkonferenz. Währenddessen entdecken Kai und seine Freunde, dass im Wald etwas Seltsames vorgeht. Aus Erdspalten dringen Licht und Geräusche. Sie steigen in das Höhlensystem hinab und entdecken, dass Rufus Wankelmann und Wieland von Wünschelsgrund dort mit Hilfe der Hexe Cylinda Krieger herstellen, die gegen die Vampire kämpfen sollen. Da die Konferenz nicht mehr abgesagt werden kann, gilt es, Wankelmanns und von Wünschelsgrunds Pläne zu durchkreuzen. Doch dies gelingt nur teilweise. Eine ganze Horde Krieger zieht zur Vampirburg. Der unausweichliche Kampf beginnt. Kai, seine Großmutter und seine Freunde werden zur Sicherheit in Kais Versteck gebracht – und laufen direkt in eine Falle, denn dort wartet von Wünschelsgrund auf sie. Der Vampirjäger erkennt in Kais Oma die verschollene Tante Geysira der Vampirkinder wieder. Einst jagte er sie und wollte sie mit dem Trunk der Trautelbeere vernichten. Doch versehentlich gab er ihr den Saft der Trügerischen Trautelbeere, der Geysira zu einem Tagvampir machte und alles Vampirische in ihr erlöschen ließ. Die anderen Vampire kommen Kai und seinen Freunden zu Hilfe und schlagen Wieland in die Flucht. Für Kai hat sich alles verändert. Er ist mit den von Greifendorfs verwandt, sein Vater spioniert für die Vampire in der Menschenwelt, seine Oma ist Tagvampirin. Und auch er kann Tagvampir werden – wenn er die Trügerische Trautelbeere findet.

He has to cover this very mediatic case, which has monopolized the columns of the local press for two days and attracted journalists from all over the country.The body of the young woman, Marion Testud, is discovered the day of his arrival. The body lies in a creek. The police, already seized of the disappearance, is charged with the case by the prosecutor. The doubts are directed towards the entourage of the victim and in particular her spouse. Tensions within the couple could have led to the drama. The man claims his innocence. After several days of research with a local informant, a former gendarme, the reporter sees another possibility: that of a murder in a longer series. A living memory of the events, a formidable weaver of links and connections, Canovas links this crime to older cases. He establishes that these women were all abducted in the direct proximity of nightclubs.Based on this new lead, which the gendarmerie did not seem to take into account, Canovas became interested in a disappearance that had occurred a few days earlier 150 kilometers away. Canovas decides to leave Savoie and goes to the Loire, where he identifies a policeman, Karim Bekkouche, who knows the mother of the missing woman. July 2017. Karim Bekkouche, "Bek" of his nickname, works as head of the BAC at the central police station of Saint-Étienne. During her absences, she worked as an escort-girl in a brothel in Switzerland. Manipulated by an Albanian kingpin, pimp and drug trafficker, she was leading a high life. Bek goes to Switzerland, meets the local thugs and takes all the risks in order to shed light on the dark personality of young Ines. Having reached the end of what he could do, he receives an unexpected visit from a Parisian journalist, Jacques Canovas.

        Summer 1940. Nazi Germany annexes Alsace, but not without resistance: in the Catholic parish of St. Jean, very close to the Great Synagogue, six French Girl Guides opened an underground border crossing for opponents of the regime, Jews, Communists and the military. They explored and found secret routes across the Vosges to the west, and south to Switzerland. By the time the Gestapo picked them up in 1942, they had brought around 500 people to safety. Freisler tried them in 1943 and sentenced six of them to death by guillotine. Pope Pius XII demanded that the women be spared. And Hitler did indeed pardon them – with the proviso that they were not allowed to know. They all survived.

        Um herauszufinden, wo sich Sandra befindet und wie er zu ihr gelangen kann, trifft Kai auf der Messe für Spaltspiegelbesitzer den Vampir Torkel Bierström, der ihm von zwei Schlüsseln berichtet, die ihn hinter den Spaltspiegel und zu Sandra bringen können. Doch was genau diese Schlüssel sind und wo Kai diese findet, weiß Torkel nicht. Als Kai den Wolfir Rabak, ein Mischwesen aus Vampir und Werwolf, kennenlernt, keimt Hoffnung in ihm auf. Rabak berichtet von einem rothaarigen Mädchen, das von der Riege der Richtigen, die die Macht bei den Wolfiren an sich gerissen hat, gefangen gehalten wird. Rabak will Kai und seinen Freunden helfen, Sandra ausfindig zu machen. Doch er stellt Bedingungen: er möchte vom Saft der Trügerichen Trautelbeere etwas haben, um seine Frau zu retten, die ebenfalls von der Riege festgehalten wird. Kai, seine Freunde und Rabak begeben sich zu den Wolfiren, wo sie feststellen, dass Wieland die Riege der Richtigen anführt und der erste Schlüssel das Licht der Werwölfe ist! Auf der Suche nach Sandra finden sie Rabaks Freund Gorx, der von der Riege ebenfalls gefangengehalten wird. Gorx hat den zweiten Schlüssel gefunden. Es ist eine Energie, die in den Wörtern eines Textes steckte und auf Gorx über ging. Mit beiden Schlüsseln ausgestattet, steigen Kai und Rabak hinter einen Spaltspiegel.
