      Song of Raven

      by Katerina Naumenko

Long poem-story illustrated by author, nine colored-pencil images inside ranging from 1/3 to full page in size. Blurb for the back cover:Have you ever dreamt of high adventure?Has your soul unendingly ripped at its reigns - To defend your truth with light and rapture,And serve others truly without gains?Oh dear stranger, the story now before you,Let me tell with innocence of youth;Of a maid, both brave and noble,Serving others well, and serving truth.Let the stamping hooves, like drum-roll beating,Hold your place, as your soul takes flight,To delight in marvels, and …some battles,Both in the field, and youth’s fair trials of right.

Real Dreams Really Make a Difference

      by Martha Cinader

From ancient history to near-modern times, this collection of short stories and poetry is about fascinating people in history who followed their dreams and changed the world. The repertoire was developed in performance in clubs, schools, libraries, jazz festivals and at the International Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Included are stories about Nicola Tesla, Albert Einstein, Josephine Baker, Queen Boedicea, Sacajawea and more. Described as "a hip beatnick Sesame Street for grownups," the stories are engaging for middle schoolers and up, and would appeal to teachers and librarians for their educational and entertainment value. The collection would also lend itself to adaptation for an educational animated TV series. Martha would like to see the life of this repertoire of biographical stories be extended to other mediums through licensing and permissions opportunities. For a more detailed description please see the Supporting Information PDF.

      Environment Poems

For the Key Stage 2 Classroom

      by Andrew Frolish

Environment Poems for the Key Stage 2 Classroom provides a selection of poems, lesson plans and worksheets, designed to be used by Key Stage 2 teachers in Literacy lessons. The poems and lesson plans relate to the objectives set out in the new Primary Literacy Strategy and are based on a variety of environmental issues, such as recycling, dramatic weather changes and environmental disasters (oil spill). Their interest coincides with the need for schools to raise awareness of environmental concerns and to become more sustainable organisations. On lesson plans, cross-curricular links are identified and worksheets support learning in other subject areas. - - - -
