Melegy the hero of the novel is undertaking an exciting adventure to a fictional island called “Caboria”. To reach his destination, he travels from the very North to the South. He passes by imaginary kingdoms and meets unique creatures that aren’t on earth. Some of those creatures are taken from classical Arabic literature while others from famous legends and the rest were completely created by the author. Melegy escapes from his country and goes to Caboria because injustice, racial discrimination, civil wars. Caboria is a safe place that could save him from the suffering that he has faced. The Prescription No.7 doesn’t only depend on old heritage and legendry characters, but it also includes some glances at the new arts. This idea is evident through one of the novel characters “Ahmed Zaki,” one of the most influential Egyptian actors in the 20th century.
