NOBODY TOLD ME is an intensely insightful look into drug dependency and sexual abuse. Uniquely showing the ongoing effects of both, on the main character and her life, this book gives a window of understanding of how the medical profession treated people with depressive disorder and anxiety, until relatively recently. It is as relevant today with the use of antidepressant and anti-anxiety drugs, rising every year;as it was when this story took place. The book communicates how the legacy of the abuse and the dependency on these medications can be life altering.
Throughout my childhood I was abused and treated differently from my siblings. The fear and stress of this life, resulted on being given medication for the physical symptoms this fear had given me. I grew up in the South of England, after three disastrous marriages, three children, one lost to adoption and a still born baby, finding myself in a brutal marriage I knew I had to change my life. I broke free from these drugs and went on to remarry and re train as Psychothrapist. I wrote my first book I DID TELL I DID in 2009 and it went straight to Number one in the SundayTimes charts and stayed in the charts for a few months. To date it has sold more than 94,000 copies and is still selling in 4 countires. My second book NOBODY TOLD ME is a story written in reply to readers questions about the medication. I self published this book recently. I am now happilly maried and living on a small holding with my husband and many animals. I have my own private practice where I often see clients with issues such as the ones I have suffered.
