Founded in 1991, Mozart Studies publishes contributions in German, Italian, French, or English. Its central focus is on scholarship concerning the work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Volume 24 of Mozart Studies reflects the current state of Mozart scholarship in terms of both basic research and critical analysis. In the current volume the emphasis lies on opera ("Entführung", "Don Giovanni", "Cosí fan tutte", "Zauberflöte") in the context of a critical investigation of manuscripts as well as historical studies and interpretations. One of the technical and compositional questions concerns the role of tempo and dynamics. And finally the complete program of 1798 with the mechanical organ work of P. Primitivus Niemecz has been verified, which played works of Haydn and Mozart, including the Overture to "Zauberflöte".
