The painter Stephan Nemec leads an unsteady artist’s life for a long time until suddenly his first solo exhibition makes him famous. Not because of the paintings, however, but while the guests at the vernissage get into a brawl.
A flashback surveys the life-stories of the characters prior to their appearance at the opening of the exhibition. Ten people, five couples. As in Schnitler’s Reigen, a partner is exchanged in every scene – until they all meet together and the explosion follows.
Sascha Wittman, born in Vienna, lives as a theater pedagogue and an authoress in Vienna and in Opponitz (Lower Austria). She is a member of the Working Community of Authoresses and belongs to the Viennese literary group “Textmotor.” Her previous work has appeared in literary periodicals and anthologies.
