Author Biography
For more than forty years, Wu Jinglian has been widely regarded as China’s most celebrated and influential economist. In recent years, he has been working with great efforts to promote reform on market and progress on democracy and the rule of law. He won the award for making an outstanding contribution to China’s economy in 2005 and was named Honorary President of the International Economic Association (IEA) in 2011. He is currently Senior Research Fellow at the Development Research Center under the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, and Bao Steel Chair Professor of Economics at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). His main research interests include comparative institutional analysis, and the theory and policy on the transformation of the Chinese society.
