Self publisher specialising in Alcohol related photography.
The publisher, Ian Macilwain, is an experienced photographer who since retirement has specialised in taking alcohol related photographs. These have been published both by himself but also by other authors as in Ian Buxton's book about Glenglassaugh distillery . He has also done commissions for Bruichladdich, Springbank, Glenglassaugh, Ardmore and Glenlivet. He is currently working on a book for Neil Wilson of Angel's share publishing entitled 'the Crafts of Whisky'. He is also hoping to do a book for the newly reopened Annandale distillery and has been accumulating a portfolio of shots during the reconstruction.
As any self publisher will vouch there is a steep learning curve involved in the production and marketing of one's own work. Ian has been incredibly fortunate to have Eddie Ephraums standing behind him throughout this journey, working on the manuscripts and knocking them into shape. The first book Bottled History was entirely designed by Eddie but subsequent ones have been collaborative.
