About

Martyn Ford, writer and illustrator, hails from Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands.
Peter Legon, writer and publisher, was brought up in Liverpool and Leeds.
Both trained as EFL teachers and in the 1980's and '90's were colleagues at the same Brighton language school.

Experiments in English Language comedy theatre led to the creation of Brighton's Leading Landlady, Mrs Hoover, and in 1994 to the first Lee Gone publication Mrs Joyce Hoover's How To Be British.

LGP went on to develop a range of humorous postcards aimed at the overseas visitor to Britain. The first How to be British Collection was published in 2003 followed by a second volume in 2005. The Collection books have since established themselves as classics of the genre, consistently featuring in the lists of best-selling humour titles. To date they have sold 325,000 copies +.
