        HERON’S WAY

        by Do Taij Mogul

The hero’s story is told in an ancient, secret chronicle... A white falcon flew across the Eternal Blue Sky. His flight was long and beautiful, binding together the patchwork of lands; his life was full of victories and defeats. Soaring high, then falling like a stone, the falcon darted from place to place. He threaded his way from the colored Jin Empire to that of the daring Naimans; from the lands of the Karakitai Khanate to the territories of the rebellious Tangut; from the highlands of the warlike Taichuds to the floodplains of the unruly Tatars.... From north to south, from east to west, no man or beast in the world knew what the falcon was really like: how his heart ached; how fears clutched his chest; what nightmares visited his sleep; what treacherous winds lurked at every takeoff of his daily journey—a journey from nothing to everything. But as he flew, paying for his power over the world with his loneliness, the world was falling to pieces. When the falcon ceased flying, the Great Destruction came, and only the memory of the people for him kept the Mongol flame burning across the centuries—all while people went about their daily routines, and did all the unbearable and great things that give man his destiny...

        Muppets in Moskau

Die völlig verrückte Geschichte, wie die Sesamstraße nach Russland kam

        by Natasha Lance Rogoff

        Under A Dark Cloud

        by Françoise Hoffmann

Following its declaration of independence in 1948, the State of Israel is credited with “making the desert bloom” as well as integrating millions of Shoah survivors and those in need of escape from the cold winds of antisemitism. This courageous country, proud of its many Nobel Prize winners, has fallen foul of biased media reports fed by propaganda that succeeded in blemishing the positive world image of Israel and has impeded its diplomatic relations.  This testimony describes the impact on the often dramatic daily life of the author by opening a window into intimate human scenes, under the dark cloud that appears in blue skies to announce a violent storm. The cloud serves as a symbol of the paradox of a life of freedom and prosperity on one hand, and never-ending violence on the other.   Israel’s short history is traced step by step by the French Israeli author who has lived in Israel since the seventies. The author unveils a patchwork of myths and falsifications that have created a fake reality now encoded into the awareness of new generations. Reading this book requires an open mind that allows readers to discover a whole new intimate and poignant world.  Françoise Hoffmann was born in France during World War II. Vichy laws made it impossible for her parents to stay in Paris, so they found a safe place to hide. The whole family survived the war. The author lives in Israel and has pursued a lifelong career in social work. 384 Pages, 15X22.5 Cm.  A french synopsis is also avialbe in the following link:   A L'OMBRE DU CUMULONIMBUS: … Témoignage d’une franco-israélienne …

        Berlin

        Psychogramme of a City

by Karl Scheffler, Florian Illies, Michael Hofmann, Florian Illies

“Berlin is damned forever to become, and never to be.” Scheffler could not have anticipated that his dictum would prove prophetic. No other author has captured the city’s fascinating and unique character as perfectly. From the golden twenties to the anarchic nineties and its status of world capital of hipsterdom at the beginning of the new millennium – the formerly divided city has become the symbol of a new urbanity, blessed with the privilege of never having to be, but forever to become. Unlike London or Paris, the metropolis on the Spree lacked an organic principle of development. Berlin was nothing more than a colonial city, its sole purpose to conquer the East, its inhabitants a hodgepodge of materialistic individualists. No art or culture with which it might compete with the great cities of the world. Nothing but provincialism and culinary aberrations far and wide. Berlin: “City of preserves, tinned vegetables and all-purpose dipping sauce.”

Amelie Trott and the Earth Watchers

        by Moyra Irving

This is the extraordinary story of how one small girl stopped a planetary catastrophe. It’s a very timely book, written for the child in us all, with a forceful message about the power of young people to transform the world - a theme currently demonstrated by brave young heroes like Greta Thunberg. And with magical synchronicity, the very week Greta began her lone vigil outside the Swedish government last year, over 1,000 miles (1,897 km) away in the fictional world of books, Amelie Trott took to Parliament Square, London - on a mission to avert the End of the World. It’s a family drama with an international feel - set mainly in England but with episodes in Washington DC and around the world.

        Patchwork Family

        by Bonnie Tharp

Sometimes beautiful things come from odd pieces of fabric, and it doesn’t matter if they’re a little tattered. They still keep you warm. Just like family. Annabelle Hubbard thinks she has good reason to be exhausted all the time: she’s the caretaker for three good-hearted but challenging grandkids and a three-legged cat named Ms. Pickles, plus she feels awkward about settling like a charity case into her grandmother’s home, now owned by her wealthy cousin Regina in Wichita, Kansas. Regina and Annabelle have never been close, but Regina doesn’t begrudge her beleaguered cousin one bit of help. Family is family! After all, Annabelle supports Regina’s romance with silver-haired Wichita attorney Sam Duncan, who encourages Regina to believe in herself again after years with a cheating husband. But Regina and Annabelle’s kinship is put to the test when Annabelle’s ex-con son-in-law shows up demanding to get to know his kids. As Annabelle sets out on a healthy new lifestyle while accepting the romantic advances of a retired coach, Regina wrestles with Sam’s marriage proposal, and the dramas of their quickly stitched-together family tug at the seams. Will this patchwork family survive?

        Microdoses

A poetry book written by Enrique Bunbury, focusing on his personal life and microdoses as a form of self-discovery.

        by Enrique Bunbury

MicroDosis is a diary written during the last two years in which Enrique Bunbury decides to experiment in his conscience the ingestion of microdoses of psilocybin. The genre chosen by the author to narrate this inner journey is poetry. In this way Bunbury consolidates his incursion into literature after the appearance in 2021 of his first collection of poems Exilio Topanga (La Bella Varsovia) adding to the aesthetic features present in that one an atmosphere of psychedelia and a critique of "the mental norm" of the system. MicroDosis is an experiential and intimate book that contemplates the daily routine with eyes that open without hesitation the doors of another perception. Space and time acquire a new depth, just as they do in Krishnamurti's diaries, grafting onto its passages the heritage of the American beat generation, the oneirism of David Lynch and a very filmic plasticity that runs through Los Angeles with a neural network in flames. Taking the words of Vicente Gallego in his prologue: "Of that extinction of oneself in the cosmic amplitude, of those inner journeys where the familiar becomes unacceptable and the prodigious dawns to its prodigality the pages of this book written with his underpants off, but full of affection for everything, including the always vain spectacle of this world, speak to us." Four editions since March 2023 6000 copies sold

        Bauhaus Women Designers

        History of a silent revolution

        by María Vadillo

In 1919, Walter Gropius founded the Staatliche Bauhaus in Weimar (Germany): a place for construction. The project was born as a utopian school in which to train, integrating various artistic disciplines through the object and architecture, the new craftsmen that would be demanded for a sweeping beginning of the century. An idea that would evolve into design from its headquarters in Dessau with the famous "art and technology: a new unity". However, the intellectual recognition of the Bauhaus is a fact that historically focused on its male protagonists, forgetting a number of women artists, designers, set designers, painters or architects trained there who contributed decisively to this "revolution", and whose work in the imaginary about the Bauhaus has remained invisible, despite developing their respective careers with an unquestionable international impact. With this work, Marisa Vadillo fills this gap, completing the reality of the school by recounting the outstanding role of these fundamental authors in an unrepeatable episode of twentieth-century art.
