Jill Marshall is the author of the popular middle-grade series about Sensational Spylet, Jane Blonde, and many other titles and series for tweens, teens, YA and adult.   Jill’s books have been published by Macmillan Children’s Books, Penguin and Hachette, in 22 countries, 11 languages and paperback, ebook and audio formats. Jane Blonde has been optioned for film and TV, with significant film interest in other Jill Marshall titles. Jill has also been an editor and manuscript assessor for trade publishers and societies, a creative writing teacher for over 1000 clients, and works in corporate communications.   During lockdown in 2020, and with all rights for all titles successfully re-acquired, Marshall fulfilled two long-term ambitions. The first – to create an independent publishing house of her own titles, rebranded and re-imagined for a digital world. The second – to pull together Jane Blonde and three other ‘superhero’ characters, all with their own origin series, into an ensemble series, S*W*A*G*G (swaggbooks.com). The third ambition was one that she couldn’t have foreseen: the wish to provide quality fiction for tween readers and upwards, in readily accessible digital formats and for free, in a world ravaged by a global pandemic.   In May 2020, Jill Marshall Books was born, and all three ambitions met. JMB has gathered momentum and fandom during those months, and it’s now time to partner with like-minded book people – innovative, passionate, caring – to extend the reach of JMB titles across formats, locations and media. Welcome to Jill Marshall Books. We look forward to connecting at Frankfurt 2020.

        Plundering the Planet

        Things We Must Do Now

by Franz Alt, Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker

“The Limits to Growth” was published by the Club of Rome in 1972 when the term “eco” was more defamatory than a real trend. That never worried Franz Alt and Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker, a long-standing co-chairman of the Club of Rome. The two committed and renowned environmental experts have campaigned for decades for a change of heart in how we treat our planet. Their book delivers a stark diagnosis about the state of the Earth – though without giving up hope. They search from various angles for a way out of the global crisis: what is the blueprint for a democracy that addresses humanity’s needs and for a sustainable economy? Are we ready to learn from nature and to make not just human beings, but all living creatures our priority? Alt and von Weizsäcker offer courage, and their numerous examples set out a vision for the future that respects the planet’s eco-systems.

SAVING OUR PLANET- A Recycling Guide for Young Readers

        by Avishag Amir

Saving Our Planet not only teaches us about garbage disposal and recycling—it’s about much more than that. This insightful book strives to make a difference in our lives and future through the youngest generation. With the help of Rocco the raccoon, Edgy the hedgehog, beautiful illustrations, and a pinch of humor, both children and adults can benefit from its message. It is a wonderful book for educating the young, as well as an enjoyable bed-time story. Why should we encourage our children to care about pollution and recycling? Well, it’s not that we should… we have to! Essentially, we only have one planet, and it has been terribly damaged over the last century by humanity—and along with it, our own and our children's future has suffered too! This is why we have to give our kids all the information and provide encouragement: "If I keep it clean And you keep it clean And everyone pitches in, We’ll keep our planet green."          Avishag Amir, the author, is the proud mother of three girls. As a puppeteer-artist, she owns her own puppet show that puts on seventeen different plays, some of which she wrote herself. The first act from one of her plays is presented to you here, as a personal gift!   The author is also the proud daughter of an important contributor to Hebrew literature and culture, the celebrated poet, writer, and translator Aharon Amir (1923–2008), who translated over 300 books into Hebrew, including English and French classics.   24 pages, full-color hardcover, beautiful color drawings, 22X23 cm
