The Love Drug
A ruined private investigator. A beautiful but dead woman. A pharmacist who wants to democratise love with a new drug substance ... Philip Strasser's detective agency has seen better days, but since former clients mock him on the internet, catching orders is not that easy anymore. That is why Strasser needs to work for the pharmaceutical company Protagen where he stops to spy on the company's staff. Eventually Nina Berger, the secretary of Protagen's research department, asks Strasser for help. She claims that her boss is pursuing her. As he refuses the request, Strasser cannot guess how sorely he is going to regret his decision, because Nina Berger is found dead just two weeks after their conversation. Now only Strasser can guess who is responsible for Berger's death. What makes a really good detective story first, turns out to be a flush written Biotech-Noir novel that addresses the issue of the gap between progress and moral on the one hand and opens up a discussion about life after a big betrayal on the other hand.
